Every piece of clothing you’re wearing right now was created and thought out by a designer. Fashion Designers create clothing, accessories and footwear that meets the demands of the consumer. Graphic designers use computer software to create visual concepts which will inspire, inform or captivate consumers. In order to succeed in this field, designers must learn be able to recognize appropriate coloring, images and designs which will create specific emotions in their audience. The typical entry-level education for this field is a Bachelor’s Degree.

Interior designers make interior spaces functional, safe and beautiful for almost every type of building: offices, homes, airport terminals, shopping malls and restaurants, just to name a few. They select colors, finishes, furniture, fabric, flooring, wall coverings, lighting fixtures and other decor to create spaces which reflect the clients tastes and expectations.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation – Graduate Arts Award
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Arts Award is for up to $50,000 per year for up to three years to college seniors and recent graduates with financial need who will pursue a graduate or professional degree in the visual arts, performing arts or creative writing. To be eligible, candidates must be nominated by the faculty at their undergraduate institution. In 2014, the Foundation will select up to 20 recipients for this award.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation – Dissertation Fellowship
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s Dissertation Fellowship is for up to $25,000 for advanced doctoral students who are completing dissertations that inform the Foundation’s mission: advancing the education of exceptionally promising students who have financial need. To be eligible, candidates must demonstrate superior academic achievement, have successfully defended their dissertation proposals, and enrolled full-time in a US graduate degree program.
