The Harold Abel School of Psychology masters degree
specialization in clinical psychology is typically intended
for those interested in pursuing a doctoral degree. Learners
in this specialization will develop theoretical understanding,
research, and assessment skills. Some graduates may pursue
licensure as psychology assistants or technicians and should
be familiar with their state psychology boards licensure
requirements. However, for those interested in the independent
practice of psychology, this specialization does not prepare
graduates for licensure as a professional counselor or psychologist.
For those interested in a doctoral degree, Capella University
offers a PsyD in the area of clinical psychology, which complements
this masters degree.
Requirements
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree from a regionally
accredited or internationally recognized institution, undergraduate
GPA of at least 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale), appropriate educational
and professional experience.
